What are the types of high voltage power cable connectors?

The high-voltage power cable connecting head is used for the connection of the power cable itself, including connecting joints, insulating intermediate joints, and plug-type joints for oil-filled power cables and steel pipe power cables.
1. Ordinary connector
It is used to connect two adjacent power cables.
In the high-voltage power cable line, in addition to connecting the cable core conductor to ensure electrical communication, the straight connector must keep the oil flow in the core of the connector of the self-contained oil-filled power cable smooth. However, because the connector is manually operated on site, its process conditions are poor. Therefore, under the condition of crimping for wire core connection, the treatment of electric field concentration at the wire core connection can ensure the safe operation of the connector by increasing the insulation thickness and reducing the working field strength of the joint. Usually in the power cable insulation above the winding package to increase the insulation, increase the two ends of the insulation to form a conical surface stress cone. The insulation shield is wrapped around the outside of the additional insulation to connect the insulation shields of the power cables at both ends, and an outer bright steel pipe is provided to isolate the insulation from the atmosphere, so that the oil pressure of the oil-filled power cable can be withstood.
2. Insulating joint
The insulation structure and size of the insulation joint are the same as those of the common joint. 110 ~ 220kV oil-filled power cable insulation joint, mainly used in large-length power cable lines, so that the metal sheath or metal shielding layer and semi-conductive layer of the power cable at both ends of the joint are electrically disconnected to facilitate cross interconnection and reduce the loss of the protective layer (or shielding layer.
3. Plug type joint
Plug joint is the weakest link in the electrical performance of oil-filled power cable accessories, and it is also the most complex joint. It is mainly used in the power cable line with a drop greater than the specified value, cut off the oil circuit, and prevent the high-end power cable insulation from drying up and the low-end power cable insulation oil pressure exceeding the specified value.
110kV single chamber plug intermediate joint, usually with an epoxy resin sleeve to separate the oil flow of the two power cables.
The 220kV double-chamber plug-stop intermediate joint uses two epoxy resin sleeves to separate the oil flow of the two power cables. There is an outer cavity above the plug-stop pipe of the two power cables, and the two inner cavities containing the power cables and the oil flow of the outer cavity are communicated with each other, showing a two-way sealed structure.
4. Steel pipe oil-filled power cable connector
There are two types of copper tube oil-filled power cable connectors: common connection connector and half plug connector.
Ordinary connection joint, used for power cable manufacturing length connection, its internal insulation structure is generally interspersed with self-contained oil-filled power cable joint, and its shell is a copper pipe with a diameter slightly larger than that of the power cable pipe. Half plug stop joint for long steel pipe oil filled power cable line. It is designed to avoid the loss of a large number of power cable sleeves in the event of an oil spill. It is used to separate the oil supply section and make the oil in the two sections circulate through the insulation layer or bypass pipe of the power cable. At the connection between the steel pipe of the joint and the steel pipe of the power cable, a sealing structure is adopted to separate the power cable oil circuit.
